Welcome to Thin Recipes

Veal Chop 1024x592 Introducing Thin Recipes

I’ve been wrapped up over at ThinRecipes these past few weeks, waiting for Lakia to finish the design and writing posts, but I’m here to say — I’m still around.  Well, a little less of me is still around.  In nine short weeks, 14 lbs. less, to be exact.  Yaay!  And we’re celebrating with a simple, yet healthy treat — Grilled Veal Chop, Israeli Couscous with Mushrooms and Apricots and a Tomato and Cucumber Salad.  The recipes are coming up at Thin Recipes.

I haven’t forgotten about FRANtasticFood.  It’s my internet internet identity and it’s home, and who just up and abandons their name or their home?  So, for now, we’ll continue to meet for food and stories, but in order not to be repetitive, I’m going to need to figure out if publishing both sites is smart, or even possible?

My suggestion?  Come over ThinRecipes and take a look around.  Kick your shoes off, pull up a chair and get comfortable in your new surroundings.

I like moving.  It’s what thrills me and I know that sinking feeling you get when you close the door behind you that first night in the new place, that “Have I made the right choice?”  “It’s all so different.”  “Will I ever get used to it?” all goes through your head as you try to get your first peaceful night of sleep in your new home.  After just a few days things settle down and you realize you’ve just embarked on a great new adventure and it’s going to be great.

Be sure to subscribe to both sites so you know when updates are published, and start thinking about how FRANtastic it’s going to be over on the Thin side, because even if you’re not trying to lose weight, the food will remain fresh, the recipes inventive and interesting and the stories, well, they’ll be the usual — some funny, some just plain to the point and always FRANtastic!  Ok, wow, where did that come from?  I know this internet marketing thing is important, but that was a little bold, wasn’t it?

Maybe I’m just feeling spunky because I’m feeling like a 1.55 lbs. a week loss is a HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT and I want to share it with everyone!  And yes, because I have another 40 lbs. to go and anything I can do to keep me pumped up and excited about it is a good thing.  Maybe I should have bought the site — PleaseMotivateMe.com, huh?

Can I convince you to follow me to Thin Recipes?  I’ve got things set up so that as soon as a post is published (which I set up to auto-post the minute it’s ready) a Tweet and Facebook Status are sent out, so you won’t miss a thing.

Introducing Thin Recipes In 2007 my career with a large, but shrinking high tech Fortune 50 \"left me,\" leaving a void in my life. While lamenting the loss and flying around the world looking for a new career to get married to, I discovered a way to use a familiar outlet during tough times -- writing. My blog-writing morphed into writing about my favorite past time -- Food! I purchase food, sell food, make food, watch food being made, broadcast meal preparation, photograph and blog about food. Like I said; Food! To change this standard text, you have to enter some information about your self in the Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile box.

Congratulations on the new site and the weight loss! 1.55 lb/wk IS a huge accomplishment, and don’t let anybody tell you different. I, for one, am suitably impressed. In fact, the idea that it could be regarded as anything less than a huge accomplishment makes me want to throw my hands in the air and go have another brownie. Which… yeah, which I kind of want to do anyway, but I WON’T.

Kristina, thanks for the compliments and the encouragement! It’s always so very welcome and heartening. And you know, I don’t think I would be as successful as I have been so far if I wasn’t blogging about it. It keeps me energized and enthusiastic.

Now, to get people to come to ThinRecipes. It’s gonna take a little effort. :)
